What You’ll Do

• Manage day-to-day administration, handling calls, emails, minutes and team support task
• Reconcile expenses and company credit card spend on a weekly basis
• Maintain key operational logs and raise quality bulletins to share best practice

• Produce reports, spreadsheets and presentations for the Operations Manager

What We’re Looking For – Administration:

Key Responsibilities:

• Visit and oversee projects at different sites across the UK, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Ensure health and safety is maintained on sites at all times and ensure prompt reporting of any incidents and near misses, including proactive support for investigations and putting in place robust preventative actions.
• Conduct regular site visits including audits to monitor progress, address any issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards and company procedures and policies.
• Foster team growth through mentorship, training, personal development reviews as well as provide constructive feedback, and set performance goals with the support of the Site Managers.
• Identify training needs and opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and develop.
• Provide management, guidance and support to on-site installation teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Site Managers to ensure communication is clear and consistent, including attendance at weekly site kick-off meetings.
• Continuously coordinate with Site Managers and Project Managers to ensure timely issue of materials, tools, equipment, and resources needed for the project completion.
• Support recruitment of on-site installation teams and subcontractors. Take ownership of ensuring that on-boarding and site inductions are being completed in full.
• Review project documentation, including reports, schedules, site diaries, commercial and budget tracking to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high quality.
• Act as a communication channel between upper management and team members, conveying policies, procedures, and strategic goals.
• Provide well-being support to colleagues and ensure referral to sources of help where appropriate, including Occupational Health.
• Uphold a professional image, contribute to Powersystems’ success, and proactively improve services and efficiency

Required Skills:

• Proven experience of people management
• Previous experience of installation and management of electrical and civil installations, within electrical contracting or utility industry

• Strong organisational, time management, IT (MS Office), and report writing skills, with excellent spoken and written English.

About the role:

As we continue to grow our portfolio of high voltage projects, we are seeking to expand our in-house design team with opportunities available at various levels of seniority. These roles will support the delivery of safe, efficient, and compliant electrical infrastructure for both new and expanding energy developments.

This position sits within our Engineering team and reports directly to the Design Manager. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design of high voltage electrical infrastructure—supporting projects from initial concept through to construction—while ensuring full compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

This role will play a key part in ensuring our projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality. You will collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to drive progress and deliver successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will bring demonstrable experience in one or more of the areas outlined below. At Powersystems, we understand that design engineers often specialise in specific aspects of high voltage design, and we do not expect candidates to have expertise across every area. If you have the enthusiasm to learn, we will provide the support and opportunities needed to broaden your design experience and develop your capabilities.

• Design of HV substations and electrical infrastructure (11 kV to 132 kV) – including substation building layouts, primary substation equipment layouts, busbar designs, primary equipment specifications
• Protection & Control design – preparation of protection SLD’s, protection scheme specifications, protection & control schematics, protection coordination reports, relay configuration files.
• HV Cable Design – design and verification of cable designs, cable ampacity rating calculations & reports using standard manufacturers data and finite analysis software packages (Cymcap).
• Systems studies – undertake preliminary design studies using Digsilent Powerfactory (Load Flow, Fault Level, protection coordination, Harmonics, P28), management and review of system studies provided by external consultants
• Carry out earthing designs using excel and CDEG’s and review earthing designs provided by external consultants
• Prepare detailed design packages including cable schedules, schematics, block wiring diagrams, ADMD calculations, battery charger sizing
• Preparation of general arrangement drawings, support the CAD and panel assembly teams
• Ensure designs prioritise safety and comply with CDM and Health & Safety regulations
• Visit sites for surveys, inspections, and factory acceptance tests
• Engage directly with clients, consultants, and DNO/TNO representatives to deliver projects on time and to specification
• Contributing to the future success of Powersystems and its clients
• Represent Powersystems with professionalism, actively contributing to our success and continuously seeking ways to improve services and efficiency

Required Skills:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Previous experience in electrical design, possibly within electrical contracting or utilities sectors

• High level of communication, being able to justify design decisions to clients and colleagues
• Capable of producing high quality written technical reports
• A postgraduate qualification in Power Systems is advantageous
• Working towards or holding professional registration (IENG/CENG) with the IET (or equivalent)

About the role:

As we continue to grow our portfolio of high voltage projects, we are seeking to expand our in-house design team with opportunities available at various levels of seniority. These roles will support the delivery of safe, efficient, and compliant electrical infrastructure for both new and expanding energy developments.

This position sits within our Engineering team and reports directly to the Design Manager. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design of high voltage electrical infrastructure—supporting projects from initial concept through to construction—while ensuring full compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

This role will play a key part in ensuring our projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality. You will collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to drive progress and deliver successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will bring demonstrable experience in one or more of the areas outlined below. At Powersystems, we understand that design engineers often specialise in specific aspects of high voltage design, and we do not expect candidates to have expertise across every area. If you have the enthusiasm to learn, we will provide the support and opportunities needed to broaden your design experience and develop your capabilities.

• Design of HV substations and electrical infrastructure (11 kV to 132 kV) – including substation building layouts, primary substation equipment layouts, busbar designs, primary equipment specifications
• Protection & Control design – preparation of protection SLD’s, protection scheme specifications, protection & control schematics, protection coordination reports, relay configuration files.
• HV Cable Design – design and verification of cable designs, cable ampacity rating calculations & reports using standard manufacturers data and finite analysis software packages (Cymcap).
• Systems studies – undertake preliminary design studies using Digsilent Powerfactory (Load Flow, Fault Level, protection coordination, Harmonics, P28), management and review of system studies provided by external consultants
• Carry out earthing designs using excel and CDEG’s and review earthing designs provided by external consultants
• Prepare detailed design packages including cable schedules, schematics, block wiring diagrams, ADMD calculations, battery charger sizing
• Preparation of general arrangement drawings, support the CAD and panel assembly teams
• Ensure designs prioritise safety and comply with CDM and Health & Safety regulations
• Visit sites for surveys, inspections, and factory acceptance tests
• Engage directly with clients, consultants, and DNO/TNO representatives to deliver projects on time and to specification
• Contributing to the future success of Powersystems and its clients
• Represent Powersystems with professionalism, actively contributing to our success and continuously seeking ways to improve services and efficiency
• Champion and embody Powersystems’ five core principles: Priority No.1 – Health, Safety and Well-being, Professionalism, Pride, Partnership, and Proactive.

Required Skills:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Previous experience in electrical design, possibly within electrical contracting or utilities sectors
• Strong technical knowledge of power engineering
• Ability to manage multiple design projects and meet conflicting deadlines
• High level of communication, being able to justify design decisions to clients and colleagues
• Capable of producing high quality written technical reports
• A postgraduate qualification in Power Systems is advantageous
• Working towards or holding professional registration (IENG/CENG) with the IET (or equivalent)
• Strong organisational, time management, IT (MS Office), and report writing skills, with excellent spoken and written English
• Ability to clearly communicate technical and commercial information, negotiate effectively, and contribute to a dynamic team
• Adaptable, resilient, proactive, willing to travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays, and holds a full UK driving licence

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the delivery of designs within agreed timeframes and to a high quality that reflect Powersystems reputation as high voltage specialists
• The ability to work across multiple design projects and prioritise conflicting project deadlines
• Provide technical support and mentoring for junior design engineers
• The ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and project engineers, to understand their expectations and justify your design decisions
• Build relationships with clients, and attend design and project co-ordination meetings with clients, their consultants, and DNO and TNO representatives
• Ensure that all designs are designed for safety and are compliant with CDM as well as Health and Safety regulations, including producing design risk assessments, and effectively communicating risks to project engineers and construction operatives
• Prepare design packages for DNO contestable works and balance of plant (private) works from 11 kV to 132 kV
• Work closely with the in-house CAD drafting team to generate SLD’s, equipment layouts, cable route drawings, construction, and legal plans for new HV connections
• Produce AC/DC schematics for protection, control, and SCADA panels, and liaise with our in-house panel assemblers on the construction of panels
• Select HV and LV cables and design cable routes using CYMCAP and Amtech software
• Prepare multicore cable schedules
• Manage and review simulation studies for generation connections undertaken by other consultants or carried out in-house, including load flow, reactive power capability, fault level analysis, power quality, and harmonic studies to demonstrate compliance with Engineering Recommendations, the Distribution Code, the Grid Code, and industry standards
• Attend sites for inspection and design purposes and attend manufacturers factory acceptance tests when required
• Uphold a professional image, contribute to Powersystems’ success, and proactively improve services and efficiency

Required Skills:

• Demonstratable experience of high voltage electrical engineering design (11 kV and above) within the electrical contracting or utility industries. You will possess excellent technical knowledge and be able to apply this in a practical way
• HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Strong organisational, time management, IT (MS Office), and report writing skills, with excellent spoken and written English.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical and commercial information, negotiate effectively, and contribute to a dynamic team.
• Adaptable, resilient, proactive, willing to travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays, and holds a full UK driving licence.
• Right to Work within the UK without limitation

Desirable criteria:

• A higher degree/post graduate qualification or equivalent in power systems would be an advantage
• Have obtained or be working towards professional registration with the IET at IENG / CENG level
• Strong report writing skills and the ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner
• Open to change, resilient and proactive
