LLoyds Register National Electricity Registration Scheme

As part of an ongoing process to introduce competition to the electrical service market, LLoyds Register operate the National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) on behalf of the UK Distribution Network Operators (DNOs).

Under these schemes they perform technical assessments of the service providers who elect to be assessed for accreditation for contestable works associated with the installation of electrical connections. Once accredited, the service provider becomes a NERS provider, commonly known as an Independent Connection Provider (ICP).

NERS providers carry out work such as the design of new connections to the network, dig and fill trenches in and around the property to be connected, and install electrical switches and transformers.

Lloyd’s registration calls for stringent controls of health and safety and operational systems for contestable works as well as a third-party audit of our site work and office-based procedures.

The Company has accreditation’s for work on 11 kV, 33 kV, 66 kV and 132 kV network systems.
