Duties and responsibilities of the role include, but not limited to:

  • Support the Procurement Manager to ensure procurement is compliant with company procedures and processes
  • Supporting the Procurement Manager by negotiating with suppliers for best quality, service and price
  • Maintain and manage supplier relationships as well as assist in the vetting and review of supplier performance
  • Liaise with Project Engineers for the preparation of project procurement schedules
  • Process requisitions, send and receive RFQs, place purchase orders with suppliers to ensure goods, plant and services are compliant with contract requirements and delivered on time
  • Support finance in resolving invoices and account discrepancies
  • Prepare analysis and reports on costs, procurement process and targets

Here’s what you need to be successful in the role:

  • Experience in procurement or purchasing, preferable within the construction industry
  • Enthusiastic, hardworking and the ability to work collaboratively to achieve deadlines and targets
  • Proven attention to detail and able to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software and comfortable using all Microsoft applications and have robust IT literacy

We Are Recruiting For An Electrical Design Engineer 

  • Pay: £7.55 Per hour
  • Job type: Full time and Permanent
  • Due to the nature of our work, candidates will be required to travel and stay away from home

Duties and responsibilities of the role include, but not limited to:

  • Assist Electricians and other tradespeople with site electrical installations including lighting/power, cable tray/ladder, cable installation and switchgear installation.
  • Prepare cable, earthing, groundworks, under supervision.
  • Install cable and containment under supervision.
  • Attend college and progress through electrical installation course successfully and in a timely manner and actively seek opportunities to learn alongside colleagues.
  • Take personal ownership and responsibility of any Company property issued to you
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are pre-arranged and inspected prior to arrival on site
  • Ensure all tools, equipment and material are kept in good working order and any defects rectified in a timely manner
  • Ensure all appropriate PPE is worn at all times and maintained correctly
  • Complete Powersystems site diary with regular review with Apprentice mentor/coach.
  • Attend regular team meetings with Operations/Site Manager
  • Carry out work in a safe manner, always adhering to health and safety procedures

We Are Recruiting For An Electrical Design Engineer 

  • Salary £40,000-£65,000 per annum dependent on qualifications and experience
  • Job type: Full time and permanent

Duties and responsibilities of the role include, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for the delivery of designs within agreed timeframes, to a high quality that reflects Powersystems reputation as high voltage specialists
  • Work across multiple design projects and prioritise conflicting project deadlines
  • Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and project engineers, to understand their expectations and justify your design decisions
  • Provide technical support for the project engineers for design queries
  • Build relationships with clients, and attend design and project co-ordination meetings with clients, their consultants, and DNO and TNO representatives
  • Ensure all designs are designed for safety and are compliant with CDM and Health and Safety regulations, including producing design risk assessments, and effectively communicating risks to project engineers and construction operatives
  • Prepare design packages for DNO contestable works and balance of plant (private) works from 11 kV to 132 kV
  • Work closely with the in-house CAD drafting team to generate SLD’s, equipment layouts, cable route drawings, construction, and legal plans for new HV connections
  • Produce AC/DC schematics for protection, control, and SCADA panels, and liaise with our in-house panel assemblers on the construction of panels
  • Select HV and LV cables and design cable routes using CYMCAP and Amtech software
  • Prepare multicore cable schedules
  • Manage and review simulation studies for generation connections undertaken by other consultants or carried out in-house, including load flow, reactive power capability, fault level analysis, power quality, and harmonic studies to demonstrate compliance with Engineering Recommendations, the Distribution Code, the Grid Code, and industry standards
  • Attend sites for inspection and design purposes and attend manufacturers factory acceptance tests when required
  • Uphold a professional image, contribute to Powersystems’ success, and proactively improve services and efficiency.

  • Have obtained or be working towards professional registration with the IET at IENG / CENG level

  • Provide proactive support and guidance to all parties on compliance with statutory requirements and company standards
  • Submit project requirements, technical information, programme and scope of works to Powersystems Commissioning Manager to manage the commissioning process

This exciting opportunity to join our team has been created because of our continued success and expansion within the marketplace, and in particular the renewable energy industry. We are looking to recruit an Electrical Project Engineer; this role will involve travel within the UK and the willingness to work flexibly out of your standard hours when required.

Duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsibility for effective project management and delivery across a diverse range of electrical HV projects including liaison with clients, consultants, and their representatives. Produce project construction programmes and manage activities to the construction programme. Attend site project progress, coordination meetings and undertake inspections / audits of site works to monitor quality and progress
  • Manage commercial aspects of projects in line with budgets and forecasting budgets for financial reporting
  • Ensure project compliance with health and safety adherence including strategic planning and management of projects, produce risk assessments and method statements and undertake safety audits
  • Attend site project coordination meetings and undertake inspections and audits of site works to monitor quality, progress, managing commercial aspects of the project in line with statutory requirements
  • Management of internal and external resource to ensure project goals and customer expectations are met
  • Building and maintaining relationships with our clients and supply chain partners
  • Manage in-house design and engineering teams to generate equipment layouts, designs, cable schedules, testing, and commissioning procedures
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufactures on design, installation, and commissioning. Obtain competitive tenders from the supply chain. Attend manufacturers factory acceptance tests when required
  • Attending pre-start and kick off and ongoing client meetings
  • Purchase procurement for project
  • Identifying and organising resourcing and logistical requirements for projects
  • Organising project briefings for on site management
  • Complete project review documentation
  • Provide proactive support and guidance to all parties on compliance with statutory requirements and company standards
  • Manage the interface between Powersystems, client / network operator commissioning and third-party engineers
  • Project a professional image to clients and colleagues

Here’s what you need to be successful in the role:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant experience of electrical engineering within the electrical contracting or utility industries
  • Experience with managing projects from a similar industry
  • Able to communicate and influence at all levels
  • Able to work effectively whilst under pressure
  • Able to assess and identify compliance shortfalls or engineering opportunities within designs
  • Able to plan-ahead and prioritise workload
  • Able to follow business processes whilst managing multiple time pressured tasks
  • Degree, HND in Electrical Engineering or similar field (or working towards HND)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Right to work within the UK without limitation
  • Must be available to travel on work related business throughout the UK with occasional overnight stays

Desirable criteria:

  •  Experience of work within the high voltage sector
  • Obtained or working towards professional registration with the IET at IENG / CENG level
  • Experienced in management of teams of site personnel
  • Open to change, resilient and proactive
