Tolldish Hall Solar Farm – 25.2 MW Electrical Infrastructure & 33 kV Grid Connection

Powersystems delivered the full 33 kV grid connection, HV infrastructure and BoP for the 25.2 MW Tolldish Hall Solar Farm, exporting clean energy for over 7,000 homes through a robust and compliant NGED‑adopted connection. The installation also included customer and DNO substation delivery, protection and SCADA integration, and a 1.7 km underground cable route engineered to meet all technical and regulatory standards. This major renewable scheme strengthens regional grid capacity while supporting the UK’s transition to low‑carbon generation.

Crimscote Solar Farm – 45 MW Electrical Infrastructure & 66 kV Grid Connection

Powersystems delivered the full 66 kV grid connection, HV infrastructure and Electrical Balance of Plant for the 45 MW Crimscote Solar Farm, providing clean energy for 14,000 homes through a robust and compliant connection. The project included design and construction of customer and DNO 66 kV compounds, integration of a 50 MVA transformer and full SCADA, protection and control systems to strengthen grid resilience and support a 110% biodiversity net gain.

South Fambridge Hall Solar – Electrical Infrastructure & 132 kV Grid Connection

Powersystems delivered the high‑voltage grid connection, EBoP and civil infrastructure for the 43.3 MW South Fambridge Hall Solar Farm, completed on time and on budget. The project included the full design and construction of the 132 kV contestable works, private‑side substation, SCADA integration and 330 m underground cable route to UKPN’s network. This major renewable development enhances local grid resilience and contributes to the UK’s transition to low‑carbon energy generation.

Crystal Rig IV 49.1 MW Wind Farm — Electrical Balance of Plant (EBoP)

Powersystems delivered the full 132/33 kV electrical infrastructure for the 49.1 MW Crystal Rig IV Wind Farm, including a new grid transformer, 20 km of 33 kV cabling and full SCADA integration—supporting clean energy generation for more than 50,000 homes. The project also included advanced protection systems, Grid Code‑compliant interfaces and the complete Electrical Balance of Plant works across a complex upland site. This installation forms part of the wider Crystal Rig wind cluster, strengthening renewable generation capacity across the Scottish Borders.

Limekiln 108 MW Wind Farm — Electrical Balance of Plant (EBoP)

Powersystems delivered the full 132/33 kV Electrical Balance of Plant for the 108 MW Limekiln Wind Farm, including a 120 MVA grid transformer, 25 km of 33 kV cabling, protection systems and SCADA integration. Working alongside Boralex and R.J. McLeod, the project enables clean, renewable electricity for around 100,000 homes and supports Scotland’s long term net zero goals.

Camster II 36 MW Wind Farm — Electrical Balance of Plant (EBoP)

Powersystems delivered the full Electrical Balance of Plant for the 36 MW Camster II Wind Farm, installing 4.8 km of 33 kV cabling, a new 33 kV substation, SCADA, protection and control systems. Despite a one year grid delay, the project was energised safely in December 2025 and will provide clean energy for around 40,000 homes.

North Kyle 212 MW Wind Farm — Electrical Balance of Plant (EBoP)

Powersystems delivered the full Electrical Balance of Plant for the 212 MW North Kyle Wind Farm, energising 49 Vestas V150 turbines and installing over 353 km of 33 kV cabling. The project transforms a former coal mining landscape into a major clean energy hub powering around 183,000 homes while supporting large scale ecological restoration and community benefit.

Airbus Fairlawn 11 kV Switchgear Replacement

Powersystems successfully delivered the full refurbishment of the critical Fairlawn 11 kV substation at Airbus Filton, replacing end‑of‑life infrastructure while maintaining uninterrupted power to one of the UK’s most important aerospace manufacturing sites. The £1.6 million project included a new 13‑panel HV switchboard, two 1000 kVA transformers, LV upgrades and full cabling replacement — all completed within a live operational environment and without any disruption to Airbus’ production activities.

Auchteraw 50 MW / 100 MWh BESS — Civil & Electrical Balance of Plant (EBoP)

Powersystems delivered the complete civil and electrical Balance of Plant for the 50 MW / 100 MWh Auchteraw BESS, installing 316 CATL battery cubes, PCS units, transformers and 33 kV infrastructure to enable full grid connected operation in the Scottish Highlands.

Glen Kyllachy 48.5 MW Wind Farm — Electrical Balance of Plant (EBoP)

Powersystems delivered the full electrical balance of plant for the 48.5 MW Glen Kyllachy Wind Farm, including a 132/33 kV substation, 40 km of 33 kV cabling, advanced protection systems, SCADA integration and grid connection. The project now supplies clean energy to around 100,000 homes, supporting Scotland’s transition to a low carbon future.
