Powersystems Precision, teamwork and smart engineering in action.

January 26, 2026

Powersystems is proud to be delivering the Perrinpit Road Solar project, a 50 MW solar farm that plays a vital role in supporting the UK’s transition to clean, renewable energy.

The project includes the construction of a new 132kV substation for both the customer and the Distribution Network Operator (DNO), alongside the creation of a vital grid connection to enable the export of renewable power.

Covering 63 hectares, Perrinpit Road Solar Farm will generate approximately 49,200 MWh of clean electricity each year — enough to power more than 12,900 homes with green energy. This will result in an estimated annual reduction of 6,096 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.

The solar farm uses state-of-the-art technology, including 77,948 bifacial solar modules across three capacities and 126 inverters, maximising energy output. Bifacial panels capture sunlight from both the front and rear of the modules, significantly increasing generation without the need for additional land.

One of the project’s key challenges is its location, with installation spread across multiple fields on both sides of a public highway. This requires careful planning, coordination and precision to deliver safely and efficiently.

Project completion is scheduled for April 2026, marking another important milestone in our commitment to building resilient, sustainable energy infrastructure.
