protection and control schemes
The selection of the correct protection and control scheme is fundamental to the operation of electrical distribution systems under normal and fault conditions. Our engineers understand this and are able to design the optimum system to interface between all the components of an individual site. The following protection schemes are regularly specified and installed by Powersystems.
- Over current and earth fault
- Unit protection of cables, busbars & transformers
- Trip circuit supervision
- G59/G75 Protection
- Auto reclosure
- Intertriping
- Blocking and back tripping
Protection is either specified on switchgear or mounted within custom built protection panels. Protection relays can be supplied from any of the major manufacturers to provide the correct protection functionality in each individual case. Once installed all relays are tested and commissioned on site to prove correction operation of the scheme.
